Jorge Luis Bernal, a painter, printmaker and mixed media artist, was our 2:00 guest.
His artwork is inspired by a variety of interests: the exhilaration of playing with color, texture and space;working and layering with encaustic paint and the fragmenting of architectural images.
He is deeply touched by Rothko, Gottlieb, Motherwell and Kandinsky;
as a trained architect he tends to follow an order system, a structure.
He believes his allegories-collages provide a narrative and pays homage to them.
He showed slides and told about his encaustic work.
A member of Rockville Art League, he won best in show at the last RAL show at Glenview.
